Saint Patrick Day Saint Patrick Day is named after famous bishop and missionary. According to many stories he is responsible1 for the conversion2 of Ireland to Christianity. Saint Patrick lived in the 5th-century3 (400-499), but Saint Patrick Day started only around 100 years ago. It is celebrated on the 17th of March and last one day. People celebrated by holding feasts4 and drinking, today there are also lot of parades and parties in Ireland and all around the world. It was celebrated by mostly Irish and Christian people, but today lot of people celebrate it, young and old, Christian and non-Christians, Irish and nonIrish. Saint Patrick Day is about celebrating Irish Culture and Traditions. People listen to Irish music and dance traditional Irish dances. Even if it is still cold, people will celebrate in the streets, and watch the parades. It is free to attend the parades and festivities, so it is not expensive to attend Saint Patrick Day. How much you pay depends on how much you drink and eat, and if you want to create or buy costume.
