Peg was telling him about her plan that Moira could run her shop in Belfast as she was going to open up place in Dublin. He went into his study and thought about what he would be going to do with his books. Summary chapter TWO, p24 – 42 Michael saw for short moment Kevs face in the mirror when he put cigarette in his mouth. Michael thought that they were being used in some way. Michael hoped they would at least bomb property not people this time too – it was half past six a.m. Moira was telling them clearly her opinion, what she thinks about the IRA and UDA and about protection money. Moira could go to the toilets and as she did not answer they unlocked the door with credit card. When Michael at last was falling asleep, he was wakened up suddenly by the noise of the same white Ford stopping in front of his house hours ago. He regretted of not having acted on time: What would have happened if he had decided to leave Moira month ago. The approaching police filled Michael with fear and hope at the same time. The tall youth forced Michael to give hand over his car keys. They could not escape, as two masked men with flashlights came towards them from the entryway and pushed them back into the sitting-room. Suddenly, Michael thought that they might be planning to blow up the hotel. Four hooded IRA men got into the house and forced Michael and Moira to remain seated on the sofa in the sitting-room. As Moira was not there, gunman called Kev jumped out of the open window on the roof of the shed below, where he found Moira and stopped her screaming. My vocabulary to check:
