5. Klasse Unit 2 Plural forms Die regelmässige Pluralform erhälst du, indem du die Singularform mit –s ergänzt. Beispiele: the car (das Auto) the cars (die Autos) book (ein Buch) books (Bücher) cat (eine Katze) cats (Katzen) -es anstatt nur –s wird dann verwendet, wenn es notwendig ist, damit du das Wort gut aussprechen kannst. Dies ist bei Wörtern der Fall die im Singular mit einem Zischlaut (s, x, ch, sh) enden. Beispiele: the box (die Kiste) the bush (der Busch) the flash (der Blitz) the boxes (die Kisten) the bushes (die Büsche) the flashes (die Blitze) Endet das Nomen im Singular auf –y ist für die korrekte Pluralform entscheidend, ob vor dem ein Vokal oder ein Konsonant steht. Vokal vor y: normale Regel einfach –s anhängen Konsonant vor y: Das –y wird zu-ie und ein –s wird angehängt.
